Last week - Calm before the storm?

I’ve had a glimpse of real fear, of complete helplessness the past two days.  Even knowing that this was likely to happen to us and knowing how children with diabetes respond to stomach viruses did not prepare me for the real thing.

I’m still alive!

Following our week of six basketball games in eight days, along with two birthdays, Princess and I found ourselves afflicted with the malady du jour.  Head cold.  Ugh.  Rooster had finished his three weeks of hacking cough and clogged nasal passages and was well on the mend when the two of us got that first [...]

One Week Ago Today

Yes, it’s been one week since the roller coaster ride started.  *sigh*  Finally, today, his numbers are coming down and for the first time I’m worried about a LOW instead of the HIGH.

Our new normal

My sister is here visiting this weekend from Missouri with her boys.  We were “complaining” about the cold blustery weather.  Ummm… yea.  It’s cloudy, looks like it might rain (it did all day yesterday), but IN THE MID 50s!  We finally came to our senses and realized that 50s in February is NOT a bad thing [...]
