I'm a midwest girl plunked down in the mid-south after a decade of wandering the country courtesy of the U.S. Navy, suffering an acute case of culture shock. Fortunately, I had already developed a slavish devotion to real sweet tea (courtesy of my grandmother) long before I settled here.
Reading is my favorite pasttime, followed by blogging, taking funny pictures, reading, and learning how to nature journal. When I have the time, I homeschool my children and attempt to learn how to be a farmer's wife. As a family, we spend time hiking and tent camping whenever we can. We look for places with water for swimming and fishing. Waterfalls are cool, too, but you can't fish in them.
Boring stats: 1 husband, 3 kids, 7 cats, 3 fish, 2 dogs, 15 chickens, 22 acres, 1 pond, 3 creeks, 1 spring. 5,672 books (but that's just a low estimate). Dreaming of 1 sweet, jersey cow to supply myself and the rest of the neighborhood with real milk.
