Had to make an emergency run to Sam’s today because we were completely out of fruit. I took a picture because it seemed like SO MUCH for one week, but now I see the picture just doesn’t do the amount justice.

I woke up this morning to a small blizzard raging outside. Whoo-hoo! (I thought.) No yearbook, no basketball… stay home and do school.
By the time I got out of the shower, it was flurries. By the time we finished breakfast the sun was shining.

Sometime during the day today, I was overcome with a giddy sense of freedom. I do NOT have to follow the primary races. There is nothing I can do to change the outcome. By the time I get to cast my little votie-poo, the election will already be decided. Yes, I live in a state that [...]

My first challenging purchase!
A week ago, we moved things around and my Beloved got rid of the table that had been serving as his desk. His work things are stored in the camper, which is now his official office. The table was too big for the space and pretty much just collected junk during the [...]

“Gentlemen, congratulations. You’re everything we’ve come to expect from years of government training.”
Can I say that this is one of my most favorite movies of all time and the above is my most favorite quote from a movie of all time? If I ever had to sum up my reasons for homeschooling in one sentence, [...]

Mary Grace has improved on the list I thought was pretty complete the first time I read it!
If you don’t homeschool and are offended easily by the truth, you might not want to read it.

Reduce our garbage
Step outside the consumerism that wants to engulf us
Model for our children a more sustainable lifestyle
Save money
“Planned obsolescence” enrages me. Every time my stupid iron breaks down (and they always do, within a [...]

It all started with a late night conversation about kitchen cabinets. Dh and I have talked unceasingly about The Day. That would be The Day when we remodel our 1980 horror of a kitchen. We have done zero, zip, zilch, nada in that room since the day we moved in, because… after all.. we’d be [...]
