I find it ironic that my outgoing, extroverted child does not enjoying performing for a crowd. Her ballet form is perfect, but she is SO serious when she’s dancing on stage. She does, however, enjoy the comraderie of the classroom.
On the other hand, my shy, introverted child lives to perform. When she’s on stage, it [...]

Where’s the dirt?
Flower Child (aka The Farm Girl) in her ballet costume.

Tonight at the theater The Flower Child was majorly snubbed by one of the obnoxious little fiends she danced with in The Nutcracker this year. This child just *happens* to belong to one of the uptight ballet moms that absolutely drove me nuts.
Here’s where homeschooling is great. Flower Child didn’t even have a clue that [...]

Well, this is the first time I’ve been tagged and I haven’t done a good job of keeping up. Still having silly mouse issues, although the mousie appears to be behaving tonight so I’m going to give it a go.
So, I was tagged by Tanya at In Search of Something More and I’m supposed to [...]

We spent last week in Tennessee. First in Nashville at Vanderbilt and the remainder of the week in Memphis.

I’ve heard it said that insomnia is a particular side-affect of being my age. I wonder if it has less to do with MY age and more to do with the age of my children. The teens to be exact.
No, they haven’t done anything wrong. They haven’t sassed back (well, at least not today), pierced [...]

Okay. I saw this recipe on Confessions of a Pioneer Woman last night. Then I dreamt about this sandwich ALL NIGHT LONG, waking up twice with drool running down my chin.
I’ve copied the recipe here, but you really, really, really need to jump over to her post because not only does she post the recipe, [...]

It is important to note that the Philadelphia Eagles T-shirt was NOT my idea.
Or her father’s idea. Or the idea of one of her siblings.
When the Eagles went to the Super Bowl we were living in Philly and
she just HAD to have one of these because everyone else did.
I mean… folks wore their Eagles outfits [...]

This morning, I was treated to the most perfect breakfast I’ve ever had in my life.
Mandarin Orange Juice
Sweet Tea
Heavenly Ham (cooked dry in the microwave)
Peanut Butter Toast (burnt and so cold the butter didn’t melt)
and
Mandarin Oranges
Of course, what made it so special is that Ash (9) got up and made it, then served it out [...]

He who binds to himself a joyDoes the winged life destroy;
But he who kisses the joy as it flies
Lives in eternity’s sunrise.
Rooster read this to me earlier today. It touched his soul, as well as mine. And now, Mr. Blake has a new fan in my son. My favorite poem was also written by him: [...]
