One Week Ago Today

Yes, it’s been one week since the roller coaster ride started. *sigh* Finally, today, his numbers are coming down and for the first time I’m worried about a LOW instead of the HIGH.
The emotional issues are still the elephant in the room, but are starting to make a little noise at least. In a way, even though I know it will be painful, I’ll be glad when it all finally comes out. Right now it’s a HUGE tension that everyone can feel. Once he let’s it out, we can move forward and start that part of the healing process.
Almost hit that point today. Silly, sweet boy thought he could skateboard on Saturday. He was still dizzy and light headed and yup… he fell right off that board. Landed on his hip on the concrete. Had to take him to Urgent Care (although Urgent isn’t really part of their mission…) and have it x-rayed. Fortunately, it turned out to be a bruise on the bone. So, we get home tonight and silly, sweet boy decides to try again. Yup… fell right off that board, right on that sore hip. *sigh* He cried for a bit.
The trip to Urgent Care pretty much took all day, so we didn’t get to work on our raised beds. :( Probably for the better, since his hip was hurting and he needed to sit and rest. Things have been so crazy ALL week and truthfully, even if we hadn’t been at Urgent Care we would have had to go grocery shopping in town.
Our little seedlings have started to sprout. Flower Child was so excited she couldn’t wait for Rooster and I to get home so she could show us personally. Me… I’m thinking… slow down little seedlings, we don’t have a place to put you! The beds aren’t finished and the garden didn’t get tilled because of the pneumonia going through the family. Now it could be weeks before it’s dry enough to till. *sigh* Such is spring in southern Kentucky!
NOT that I am complaining about our spring weather! It was 66 deg in town when Rooster finished with the doctor. Daffodils and crocuses and it’s still FEBRUARY! Yea… I know that March is right around the corner, but in our neck of Illinois they never braved the world until April was in full swing. Flower Child picked some of the first crocuses two weeks ago and we put them in a glass bowl with a little water. They opened up so beautifully! I had intended to post a picture but the family entertainment (aka the kittens) decided the little flowers would make great playthings.
